A crystal medal replaces the metal disc with a block of clear K9 crystal, faceted around the edge, with the event artwork printed in full colour on an insert set into its centre. Because the design is printed rather than cast, logos, gradients and photographs reproduce as supplied, and a change of design is a change of print rather than a new mould. Is there a minimum order for Crystal Medal products, and how long do they take?
There is no minimum — one piece is fine. Standard production runs about 7–14 working days once the artwork is approved, plus 1–2 days with a private courier. We confirm the exact dates after you sign off the design.
Can you engrave names, text, or a logo onto Crystal Medal products?
Yes, on every piece. Artwork design and layout are free — send us the logo and the wording, and our graphics team will send a proof for approval before anything goes into production.
How is a crystal medal different from an acrylic one?
Both are clear, but they are different materials. Crystal is glass: heavier, harder to scratch, and faceted so it throws light, with the design on a printed insert set in the centre. Acrylic is a lighter plastic sheet, laser-cut to any outline and printed directly on its face. Choose crystal for a premium award going to a few winners; choose acrylic for a bespoke shape in large quantities.
Will a crystal medal break if it is dropped?
It can. Crystal resists scratching far better than acrylic, but it is still glass, so a fall onto a hard floor can chip an edge or crack it. Keep the medals packed individually until the presentation, and if the recipients are small children, acrylic or plastic is the safer choice.
