Sustainable Medal Packaging: 3 Switches That Actually Reduce Waste ♻️
Most "eco" packaging is greenwashing — a paper sleeve over the same plastic insert. Three structural switches actually reduce per-medal waste without changing the unboxing experience.

Molded Pulp Inserts Beat Foam
Molded paper pulp inserts (the kind iPhone boxes use) hold medals as securely as EVA foam, weigh less, and compost. Cost per insert is about ฿2 higher than foam, but you eliminate the single biggest waste item in standard medal packaging. RS Trophy switched our default in late 2022 and no client has asked us to switch back.
Soy-Based Inks for Print
Standard offset inks are petroleum-based. Soy-based inks print equally well, cost about 8% more, and let the printed box be recycled cleanly without removing the ink layer. Specify 'soy-based ink' on every printed sleeve order this year — your packaging vendor either supports it or admits which ink they actually use.
