Many late-October races and tournaments postponed or moved to subdued ceremonies. For events still proceeding, three medal-spec adjustments are appropriate for the mourning period.

Silver or Pewter Replaces Gold

For events proceeding through mourning, switch gold finisher medals to silver or matte pewter. The cost is comparable (~฿2-3/unit difference), the photo result is appropriately subdued, and recipients understand the gesture. The medal itself can still acknowledge accomplishment without the festive gold tone.

Ribbon Width and Texture Adjustments

Wider black ribbon (38mm vs standard 25mm) photographs more solemnly. Avoid satin sheen if possible — matte grosgrain or moiré-pattern black reads as more formal mourning. Cost difference is minimal (~฿2/strip); the visual register shift is meaningful.
