Most Thai trophy factories sell through a WordPress site with a catalog plugin and a contact form. We built this entire web app custom — Next.js storefront, custom CMS, custom catalog logic. The reason matters for what you experience as a buyer.

Why We Skipped WordPress

WordPress trophy sites typically run 8–15 plugins: catalog, search, contact forms, image gallery, SEO, security, caching, payments. Every plugin update is a potential breakage point — and a Thai-factory site that breaks on a Sunday afternoon stays broken until Monday morning. We saw this pattern repeat across competitor sites and made the call: our customers (race directors, school administrators, corporate procurement teams) need a site that loads on Sunday evening when they're planning a Monday quote request. Custom code with no plugin chain delivers that reliability.

What Custom-Built Means for Trophy Buyers

Our product search understands trophy-specific vocabulary: filter by material (acrylic, crystal, zinc-alloy, wood), by occasion (sport-day, retirement, anniversary), by lead time (in-stock vs custom). A generic WooCommerce search filters by tag and price. The difference is whether you find the right plaque in 30 seconds or scroll through 200 unrelated results for ten minutes. Every search refinement on our site was built specifically for how trophy buyers actually shop — not how WordPress thinks an e-commerce buyer shops.

The Performance Compound Effect

A product page on our site loads in under a second on a typical Thai 4G connection. The same trophy on a plugin-heavy WordPress site takes 4–8 seconds. Multiply that across a buyer browsing 15 plaque options during a procurement review — that is the difference between a finished shortlist by lunch and "I will revisit this tonight".
